Interests

Traveling, her cat Milo, Sara Bareilles, musical theatre, iced coffee, Schitt’s Creek, and all things St. Louis.

Danielle Sutherland officially joined the Varsity Vocals team in 2021 as the ICHSA Midwest Producer, after previously completing the Production Assistant Training Program. Along with volunteering at Midwest shows throughout the years, Danielle has also acted as day-of producer for previous seasons in the Midwest Region.

Danielle’s a cappella journey began at Hazelwood West High School with the group Wildscats. In 2012, with help from their student teacher (and ICCA Midwest Producer) Leah Alrutz, the group competed in their first ICHSA. At Missouri State University, Danielle was a member of the all-female a cappella group A Cub Bella. During her time in the group, she served as the group’s Business Manager and ICCA Coordinator. Her favorite memories were always competing in the ICCA!

Since graduating, Danielle has moved back to the St. Louis area and teaches 4th grade in the Ladue School District, where she also works with the elementary show choir at her school. In her free time, you can find her working with Variety, the Children’s Charity of St. Louis, in their inclusive musical theatre program.
